FACILITIES GROUNDSKEEPER

SUMMARY: 

Performs maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the Routt County Courthouse, Annex, Detention Center, Fairgrounds, Combined Law Enforcement Center, Health and Human Services Building, as well as additional related grounds and other Routt County properties. Responds to all employee requests for maintenance services and repairs in various departments and facility locations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

The duties listed below represent the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific duties does not prevent the assignment of work that is appropriately related to this class. 

• Maintains Routt County grounds to ensure property is maintained at a most professional landscaped appearance presenting the Routt County Steamboat campus as landmarks. 

• Performs snow removal using various machines and equipment, ice removal and mitigation for safe access to buildings and grounds 

• Maintains parking lots, sidewalks, walkways, and other means of access to ensure safe access to buildings and grounds. 

• Maintains all shrubbery, trees and landscaping elements, including maintenance of irrigation systems.

• Performs other duties as required or requested such as painting, ordering supplies, buying materials, deliveries and pickups as directed by Maintenance Supervisor. 

• Sets up voting booths throughout Routt County precincts and then removal and storage after elections. 

• Performs various minor maintenance duties involving drywall, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems in County Facilities. 

• Requisitions, stores, and distributes supplies and materials as authorized; maintains an inventory of supplies. 

• Delivers and/or picks up items at other locations. 

• Uses a computer to maintain routine files and records.

• May train less experienced maintenance staff on the proper maintenance and repair of building systems and grounds. 

• May perform custodial duties in the absence of custodial staff. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
