IT Process Improvement Specialist

Introduction

 

 

Bring your data analysis and system development skills to the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Administrator's Office as a IT Process Improvement Specialist (Information Systems Comprehensive Services Senior)! This position is in the Technical Support Unit and performs data extraction and analysis used by management and policy analysts throughout the Division. This team is composed of talented and fun individuals who are passionate about their work.

This position will have the opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week.  

This position is headquartered out of the Hill Farms Office Building in Madison, Wisconsin, which is conveniently located close to the Hilldale shopping center, offering a variety of restaurants, shopping, entertainment and a weekly summer Farmers Market on Wednesdays!  As the state's capitol city, there are a variety of restaurants, shops, parks, events, and lakes to explore. Madisonians enjoy spending time outdoors on land or on water, exploring the city parks, heading to a local farmers market, biking to their destination and trying new restaurants.

Position Summary

 

In this position, you will be part of a team of information management professionals who provide end user support and perform system development functions using LAN based application tools. You will support the communication environment and Division business functions, using technologies within the division’s host and client/server architectures. The work impacts and directly affects the development, formation and implementation of long and short range operational plans, policies, procedures and budgets. It also plays a critical role in providing transparency and availability of DMV data to the Department, other State Agencies, and the public.

Salary Information

 

This position is in schedule-range (07-34) with an annual salary of $60,320-$78,000, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications

 

Qualified applicants will have all the following:

  • Experience with management information systems to perform functions such as extracting and tracking data, creating ad hoc and standardized reports, reviewing data, or identifying system improvements or software upgrades.
  • Training or experience in performing implementations, ongoing support, or maintenance of IT systems.
  • Experience providing end user/IT customer support.
  • Experience using Excel, Access, Word, SharePoint or similar software to complete activities such as creating or updating databases, creating spreadsheets or tables that utilize macros, creating formulas to perform calculations, creating automated templates to process and analyze large data sets or help teams collaborate on projects.
