Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. The Staff Accountant will assist with daily accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process customer invoices accurately and timely
- Verify supporting documentation, rates, purchase orders, load information, and billing details prior to invoicing
- Maintain organized billing records and electronic documentation
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies or customer questions
- Work closely with operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to ensure billing accuracy
- Monitor customer portals and upload invoices and supporting documents as required
- Assist with accounts receivable collections and payment application
- Reconcile billing reports and identify missing or incomplete documentation
- Maintain customer billing files, contracts, and rate confirmations
- Assist with month-end billing close procedures
- Generate reports related to invoicing, billing status, and outstanding balances
- Ensure compliance with company billing procedures and customer requirements
- Support additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
