Service Technician Job Description

Professional Summary and Qualifications

Position Purpose

Reporting directly to the Shop Foreman, the Service Technician is responsible for comprehensive maintenance and repair of trucks ranging from Class 5 to Class 8, as well as recreational vehicles. All tasks are to be performed in accordance with established OEM standards and company policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role is not assigned supervisory duties.

Essential Duties

· Diagnose and repair complex truck systems with precision and efficiency.

· Ensure all repairs are completed accurately, following directives and standards set forth by supervisory staff.

· Maintain detailed records of time and work orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

· Consistently meet efficiency benchmarks and adhere to attendance requirements.

· Tag and process all parts in accordance with warranty protocols.

· Uphold the cleanliness of customer vehicles throughout the service lifecycle.

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, free of hazards and debris.

· Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.

Required Competencies

· Ability to interpret and apply safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural documentation.

· Proficient in preparing routine reports and business correspondence.

· Strong verbal communication skills, with the capability to address diverse groups effectively.

· Competence in performing calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

· Demonstrated ability to apply fundamental concepts of algebra and geometry.

Preferred Education

· High school diploma or GED equivalent.

· Technical training, trade school or relevant education

Preferred Experience

· One to two years of related work experience and/or formal training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

· Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

· ASE certification (preferred).

· Freightliner certification or Cummins certification

Pay: $25.35 - $28.00 per hour
